All ages! Yes, really! Our “Rated G” experience is designed to be appropriate for children of all ages. Our intent during the “Rated G” experience is to entertain, not to scare.
After 8pm, once we shift to PG13, we transition into a more traditional haunted house, which is recommended only for ages 13/14 and above.
Our “Rated G” experience from 6-8pm is designed to entertain children of all ages, not scare.
On the other hand, our “PG13” experience – held after 8pm – is a traditional haunted house intended to scare. Only YOU can answer the question what scares you. If you’re coming out for our scarier experience, it’s always good to bring a squealing friend or two. You don’t get scared? Then you might as well enjoy watching your friends be scared! Only YOU can turn on the fun. 🙂
Do you want really, really scary? Then come on Halloween night for our one-night “SuperScare” event!
We sell a fixed number of tickets each hour to control wait times. When you purchase a ticket for a certain hour, please arrive and join the line by mid-way through your hour. For example, if you purchase a ticket for 7-8pm, please arrive and join the line by 7:30pm.
We will have parking at Red Barn itself, and also across the street at Grey Barn Nursery. Spaces will be reserved first at Red Barn for individuals with accessibility needs. If you don’t have accessibility needs or children under 6 yrs old, consider parking directly at Grey Barn Nursery to support others.Volunteers will be on-site to guide parking.
As a small, scrappy, all-volunteer organization working hard to put on an awesome event for the community, our resources are limited. This means we unfortunately can’t designated people to process returns / exchanges. If you buy tickets and are unable to attend you are welcome to resell or gift your tickets to a friend. All you’ll need to do to “transfer” tickets is to forward the email with the tickets to the person of your choice.
There are two parts to this – the line, and the haunt itself. We are selling tickets by hour to control for the wait, but you should expect to wait in line before entering the haunt. Once you’re inside the haunt, groups sometimes proceed at slightly different paces. Standard groups should expect to finish the haunt in 10-15 minutes, which is a standard industry haunt time.
Before you enter the haunted house, you will be put into a group of 5-6 people. That means either breaking your group up into smaller ones if you are larger than 6, or adding people to your group if you are less than 5. This helps make the line shorter for everyone.
You may still run into the group ahead of you or have the ones behind you catch up, as we can’t control the pace everyone moves at inside the haunt.
Nope! We will never have strobe lights in our haunt. And if there are other sensory elements you’re concerned about please email us directly at support@frighttowneastside.org – we’d love to help everyone can have a lovely haunt experience.
Absolutely not! Athough actors may occasionally SEEM pretty close to you they will never touch you. (You’re also not allowed to touch the actors.)
Sure, as long as you don’t bring any props whatsoever (plastic swords, fake wands, etc.) and wear anything hard to move in. If you’re getting dressed up and coming to the “Rated G” experience, we’d ask that you keep your costumes appropriate for small children.
No photos or videos are allowed inside the haunted house. If you are media (paper, radio, blogger, etc) please contact info@frighttowneastside.org. Everyone is encouraged to take pictures with any characters who might visit you while waiting in line and in our photo-op spaces!
You can email us at support@frighttowneastside.org with any questions.
Absolutely! This is a community driven experience, built BY and FOR the community. Which means we want EVERYONE to be able to attend. If there’s something we can do to make it more possible for you to come out and have a great experience please reach out and let us know. We’re here to help. You can email us at support@frighttowneastside.org.
To be clear… we are happy to provide complimentary tickets to anyone who asks, no explanations needed.
